Testimonials

"We have been working together with Eureka! over a three-year period on a series of projects all of which focused on human resource management. Particularly in our case the main issue was how to rebuild an efficient and motivated team following a painful and difficult restructuring of our operations in Japan. Anne Good of Eureka! always provided us with highly professional advice, and she is also extremely capable to read between the lines and understand in depth the value of human relationships within the various layers of a company organization. One of the toughest challenges was to train one of our most capable and experienced employees to become a fully operational manager with high responsibility, and she was successful in doing that. Not only she was able to build the necessary confidence and self-awareness in the person, but also to steer in a positive direction his relationships with the other employees, whether they were superiors or subordinate. Constant patience, reliability, and being tough at times whenever necessary, are her most impressive qualities. We wish to recommend working with Anne to any foreign organization based in Japan that wants to improve its human resource management."

"The sessions with Anne helped me to identify important features about my personal style, strengths and preferences in relation to work and how best to mobilise them in looking for the next job. Anne has the maturity and experience to understand what happens beneath the surface and it was through her almost detective-like ability to pinpoint my particular personality type that I was able to appreciate what lay behind my success and failure in the workplace. I would recommend Anne to anyone who is looking for a career coach with a difference."

"Working with Anne has been an eye-opener. At first skeptical regarding the Myers Briggs, Anne quickly taught me how valuable it is in order to understand, improve, and utilize your own strengths and weaknesses. Beyond that, Anne has a rich knowledge of many aspects of business and corporate culture to help you guide along the way. At the same time, her warmth and personal references made the sessions with her filled with laughter and into a truly fantastic, inspiring, life-changing experience. Thank you, Anne"

After undertaking a course of sessions with Anne, we were able to identify key factors that were inhibiting my progress through life.  Once these factors were identified and discussed Anne gave me techniques to work with to strengthen them.  The course has a profound effect on my working and personal life.  I feel confident in situations and equipped with necessary skills to move through life and seeking out challenging opportunities.

I can fully recommend Anne Good, and I am happy to introduce her life coaching business, Eureka, to others without hesitation. On a personal level, she comes with huge amounts of warmth, humanity and humour. But more importantly, as a life coach, she brought focus and insight to our meetings, working with me to establish priorities and goals. She was a sounding board for ideas, and provided an excellent objective point of view. Thanks to her, I am now in the new chapter in my career that I had been looking to start for several years.

"Being 23 and job hunting in an unstable market without any real knowledge of which industry you want to enter is daunting. Add living in a remote, non-English speaking location and preparing to momve country and the stress, not to mention the confusion grows.  I met Anne at a conference where she was speaking and arranged a Myers-Briggs session with her. Anne was very accommodating and agreed to do the session via skype and the internet (the aforementioned remote location made it impossible to meet face-to-face), and also worked with me to arrange the time around my work schedule. The session consisted of self-assessment and later a discussion of results which I had sent to her from a survey I completed earlier. During the self-assessment, Anne checked that I was comfortable with my answers at appropriate intervals, i.e. when I wasn't  feeling 100% comfortable, making the session much more beneficial and accurate. For me taking the Myers-Briggs assessment with Anne helped me to find out where my strengths and weaknesses lie and therefore to understand both how to better market myself and also how to assess which jobs I would be better suited to and would potentially enjoy more."

After completing a few coaching sessions with Eureka, all the pieces of my career started to fall into place. I was able to reflect back on my experiences over the past 20 years in a way that makes perfect sense given my personality, leadership style, and interests.  The one-to-one attention and expertise of Eureka allowed me to step back from my day-to-day existence and see the future more clearly than any corporate training or leadership program in which I've participated.  Thank you!

Having now moved to Canada, I just wanted to let you know that I have remembered all we worked on during our sessions. I had an amusing chance to use my elevator pitch on Friday and actually have coffee set up with someone already. A woman was sitting across from me on very empty public transport and loudly speaking into her mobile about finishing her MBA and how she was working for a communications consulting company that coaches executives on presentations, internal communications and speaking effectiveness. We got off at the same station but she stayed on the phone for quite a while walking down the hallway. I couldn't believe the coincidence of it so I followed her, waited until she finished her telephone conversation (praying that she would get off the phone) used my pitch, and asked if she had a business card. Not sure what will come of it but it will be good to start talking to people in the development industry. If it wasn't for the coaching sessions we did, I don't think I would've been prepared to act so quickly and to have the guts to follow her. I emailed her and she's invited me to come have a chat at her office on Friday. Thanks again as always - you were a really great help to me.

The best business decision I have ever made

I have been working with Anne for four months or so now. Before meeting her, I was a mess and completely unsure about my own professional life. With her coaching sessions, I learned a lot more about who I am as a person. I think always knew in the back of my mind what my traits are and what I wanted in life, but it was Anne that helped me put them into words. She gave me the tools to succeed. There were so many "ah-ha!" moments from working with Anne that I feel like a different person now. I now know what my assets are and how to truly market myself. More importantly, I have a job now! I owe all my success to her. Thanks Anne!

Thank you for helping me have my head on straight during the last three years - that wasn't easy considering the emotional roller coaster ride the times and job created. Your advice helped me rationalize many conflicting issues, and you helped me understand that I wasn't alone in having problems in Japan.

Anne helped me a lot; boosting my level of self-confidence that was close to zero. She helped me understand that although I am not perfect and cannot do all kinds of jobs, I certainly will be able to work in more fields than I ever thought of before starting my coaching. Anne had a way of giving me more than on-the-spot homework that will be forgotten once done; she gave me the opportunity to think positively about myself all the time and she provided all the tools needed for my job hunting and for the upcoming job interviews to come. Thanks to her advice and explanations, I managed to build my own CV that contains zero lies and makes me want to hire myself! I especially appreciate her dynamism and yes, we had a few Eureka moments! Engaging a career coach before moving to a new continent is a must and I am glad I did it.

Eureka! has helped me so much. My confidence and self esteem had taken a blow from all the jobs I applied for but not received an interview for, I felt I would never find a job and that I just wasn't good enough. After my sessions with Anne at Eureka! I realised that my CV was all wrong and that actually, I'm good at a lot of things. Since my sessions and after updating my CV I've had interviews and job offers all over the place, it's great to have a choice. I would recommend Eureka! to everyone, it's not only helped me get a job but also helped me find me again.

It is more than likely you have heard of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator based on Carl Jung’s theory and Isabel and Katherine Myers-Briggs’ work. Well, I have and, in fact, had already taken it - twice. That was before I sat down with Executive, Career and Life Coach, Anne Good of Eureka! She asked me what my ‘type’ was. Well I fumbled because I couldn’t remember. She suggested I take it again, but this time after taking the indicator, I should go over the results with her - a kind of debriefing/self-assessment process.

To be perfectly honest, I didn’t see how taking it a third time would be of any value to me since my memory of the previous results didn’t seem to stick. However, in the spirit of continually seeking more awareness, I thought what could it hurt, so I took it again.

Fast forward… I am sitting in Anne’s office sipping cool water when she asks me how I felt about answering the questions. I had to answer honestly, so I told her I didn’t like it and it actually made me feel uncomfortable at times. With a knowing smile, she suggested we put the indicator and its results aside for the moment and she began to go over the categories with me looking at each of the criteria one by one.

As we talked, she had me plot myself on a continuum between all the classified pairs. It was at this point that the categories really began to make sense to me, and I understood why answering the questions made me feel so uncomfortable in certain areas. As we went over each of the categories to identify my best-fit type, Anne continued to illustrate the different types using stories and scenarios. In doing so I could finally see my natural inclinations and the areas I was less comfortable with but had continued to beat my head against the wall with, in an attempt to try and change. And this is where the real Eureka! Moment happened.

Previously, when I had taken the indicator, I was simply given the final results with an explanation of terms - none of which had any real impact on me, or meaning come to that.

What I learned this time by going through everything with Anne in depth was truly eye opening. Not only did I realize I was not ‘broken’ in certain areas of my life but we were able to discuss certain areas and work with some tools that would help me alleviate the stress.

It was when I was not acting within my so-called comfort zone or natural self that I felt the stress. This was hugely gratifying and the time I spent with Anne going over the self-assessment gave me so much more than merely taking the indicator. It gave me real insight into how I live my life.

It also made me realize that it was OK to be me… in fact, it was Great to be me.
